Internship Overview

📌 Position: Power BI Intern
📍 Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
⏱ Time Commitment: Full Time

The internship is part of Volvo’s Group Digital & IT team. You’ll be working on SPIDR (Supplier Part Information Data Repository), a real-time product data system, where you will help convert raw data into visual dashboards that help teams make better decisions.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Power BI Intern, your core focus will be enabling smarter decision-making through interactive dashboards and reports. Key tasks include:

Assessing and selecting the most suitable visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather user requirements
Analyzing data within SPIDR and identifying visualization needs
Designing dashboard mockups that reflect real-world use cases
Building and refining Power BI dashboards for end-user accessibility
Assisting in user training sessions to promote adoption and ease of use
Documenting the project lifecycle and decisions for future scalability

Qualifications & Eligibility

The internship is open to motivated, analytical students who meet the following requirements:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or IT
Must have completed at least 30 semester hours by the internship start date
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above
Available to work August–December 2025 (part-time)
Must be based in or near Greensboro, NC
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Bonus if you have:

Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
Familiarity with programming languages like Python or Java
Prior work with data analysis, engineering, or documentation tools
