United’s Global Procurement internship is designed for MBA and master’s students interested in supply chain, logistics, or finance. You’ll join a collaborative team that supports the airline’s sourcing, risk management, and cost-saving initiatives. Unlike many internships where you work on a single assignment, this programme immerses you in multiple strategic sourcing and process improvement projects.

Roles & Responsibilities

During the internship, you’ll work closely with procurement leaders on critical initiatives, such as:

Supporting strategic sourcing activities, including RFX processes, market research, and spend analysis.
Acting as an internal consultant to identify and drive process improvement opportunities within Global Procurement.
Mapping current-state procurement processes and developing standardized future-state workflows in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Assisting in the development of an enterprise-level spend cube for third-party spend analytics.
Contributing to the build-out of United’s Third-party Risk Management program.
Analyzing supplier markets, creating RFPs, and developing total cost of ownership (TCO) metrics to deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

MBA or master’s student (preferred in supply chain & logistics) graduating in Winter 2026 or Spring 2027.
Minimum of 2 years of prior work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred but not required: experience creating Excel models, prior exposure to strategic sourcing, procurement, financial/statistical analysis, or certifications in supply chain-related fields. Knowledge of TCO concepts and strategic procurement processes will help you stand out.
