Internship Overview

📌 Position: Computer Science Internship
📍 Location: Troy, Michigan
Time Commitment: Full-time


Roles & Responsibilities

As a Schaeffler co-op, you’ll take on meaningful responsibilities and work on real engineering challenges. Every intern receives a customized project brief and mentorship from experienced professionals. Your work could involve:

  • Supporting product development teams in testing and documentation

  • Designing components or process models in mechatronics or software applications

  • Assisting with automation, system testing, or data analysis

  • Identifying ways to reduce waste and improve overall product quality

  • Participating in cross-functional project reviews and status updates

  • Helping define process standards or updates for ongoing production

  • Engaging in technical reporting and team-based discussions

  • Learning about manufacturing systems and the technologies behind them


Qualifications & Eligibility

This opportunity is designed for students currently enrolled in technical undergraduate programs who want to get real-world experience before graduation. You’re a great fit if you have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related field

  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 per semester

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • A strong interest in engineering, innovation, and continuous improvement

  • The ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stay focused at a desk for extended periods

  • A self-motivated attitude and a desire to take initiative

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a team environment
