Internship Overview
• 📌 Role: Software Engineering Intern
• 📍 Location: Hybrid—San Francisco, CA & Seattle, WA
• ⏱ Time Commitment: Full-time
Roles & Responsibilities
• Design, build, and ship end-to-end features for the OpenAI API and ChatGPT user experiences.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, product managers, and designers to deliver reliable, user-facing functionality.
• Optimize application code for performance and scalability under real-world usage patterns.
• Participate in agile ceremonies—including design reviews, code reviews, and sprint planning—to uphold code quality and best practices.
• Help architect and implement safety guardrails and monitoring systems to ensure responsible AI deployment.
• Foster an inclusive, transparent team culture by sharing feedback and ideas openly.
Qualifications & Eligibility
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least one semester of coursework remaining after completing the internship.
• Proficiency with JavaScript and React; familiarity with Python or another backend language.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Passion for AI/ML concepts and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
