You will join the Advanced Photonics Research Group, pushing the boundaries of high-speed and high-capacity optical communication systems. Expect hands-on learning, experimental setups, and collaboration with top industry researchers.

Roles & Responsibilities
Interns will contribute to research and engineering tasks such as:
β’ Experimental work with optics and optoelectronic devices
β’ Supporting research on quantum communications & single-photon detection
β’ Working on fiber technologies (multimode/multicore fibers & amplifiers)
β’ Digital signal processing (DSP) development for high-speed systems
β’ Analyzing research data and maintaining technical documentation
β’ Learning practical implementation using Python and ML tools
β’ Participating in scientific discussions with global researchers
β’ Understanding how Bell Labs turns ideas into impactful innovations

Qualifications & Eligibility
Ideal candidates should have:
β’ Currently pursuing a Masterβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, CS, or related fields

β’ Basic programming background (Python preferred)
β’ Understanding of communication fundamentals or DSP
β’ Motivation to learn technical skills in experimental environments
β’ Eligible to work in the United States (no sponsorship support)
Bonus Skills (Not Mandatory):
β’ Exposure to ML tools for optical data processing
β’ Experience with FPGAs or GPUs for DSP acceleration
β’ Familiarity with test-bed setup for optical communication systems
