Medpace’s Informatics Internship is an ideal opportunity for students who want hands-on experience in clinical research informatics. You’ll be joining a collaborative team that plays a vital role in shaping clinical trial strategies through data analysis, visualization, and study design support.

Roles & Responsibilities

As an intern on the Informatics team, your responsibilities will include:

Customizing programming scripts to manage and organize clinical data
Designing and developing innovative data visualizations and analytical reports
Supporting feasibility proposals by compiling and organizing relevant datasets
Working closely with teams in both the U.S. and London to develop insights
Participating in brainstorming and whiteboarding sessions to solve real-world problems
Using tools like R, SQL, Excel, Power BI, and Shiny to support data-driven decisions
Attending team meetings, 1:1 mentoring sessions, and collaborative group discussions

This role offers a structured learning experience through a two-week onboarding process, followed by guided independence. You’ll be involved in actual projects, giving you practical exposure to clinical data environments and international teamwork.

Qualifications & Eligibility

This internship is ideal for upper-level undergraduates or graduate students who are passionate about data, healthcare, and innovation.

Must be a Junior, Senior, or graduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in:

Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or a related field
Minimum GPA of 3.5 (strong academic performance preferred)
Prior experience programming in R or similar languages
Basic Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work in a collaborative, team-based environment
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
