Roles & Responsibilities
As a Global Pharma Strategy Intern, you will work closely within the Strategic Insights team, supporting business-critical projects that guide product planning and commercial strategy. Your responsibilities may include:
• Supporting market assessments, forecasting, and commercial strategy development
• Translating customer and market perspectives into strategic insights
• Collaborating with teams across Marketing, Medical Affairs, Development, Regulatory, Pricing, and Market Access
• Analyzing external market trends and competitive landscapes
• Assisting cross-functional teams with business questions related to pipeline, portfolio, and disease area strategies
• Creating presentations and strategic stories that help leadership make informed decisions
• Reviewing existing market research data to identify opportunity areas
• Contributing to discussions that influence program design and business priorities
This role gives you the chance to act as a strategic thought partner, working on decisions that directly shape future therapies.
Qualifications & Eligibility
To qualify, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree already completed
• Currently enrolled in an MBA or Master’s in Business Administration program
• At least one semester remaining after the internship
Required Skills & Experience:
• 3–6 years of prior experience in consulting, finance, marketing, sales, or drug development-related fields
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Experience with quantitative analysis, Excel-based models, or analytical tools
• Ability to turn insights into clear strategic recommendations
• Demonstrated leadership, time management, and project management experience
• Alignment with Genentech’s culture of integrity, courage, and passion
Preferred:
• Prior experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
• Ability to work efficiently in diverse global teams
Authorization:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. No relocation benefits are available for this role.
