📌 Position: Data Scientist Intern

📍 Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

🗓 Duration: September 8 – December 12, 2025
This is a part-time internship that puts you in the driver’s seat of real-world financial data and risk analytics. You’ll work closely with BMW’s Risk and Credit departments and take on a solo analytics project while learning directly from experienced Data Scientists.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist Intern, your day-to-day will include:

Analyzing structured and unstructured financial datasets to uncover business insights

Building predictive and prescriptive machine learning models for practical application
-
Assisting with financial model development for regulatory and strategic purposes
-
Supporting senior data scientists with risk, credit, and performance modeling
-
Leading an independent analytics project defined by the Bank’s team
-
Keeping up-to-date with modern AI trends, especially around large language models (LLMs)
Your work will help shape data-driven decisions and contribute to BMW’s ongoing transformation into a more digital, intelligent finance organization.
Qualifications & Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Analytics

Must have completed at least 60 college credit hours before the start date

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Strong skills in SQL, Python, and tools like Excel, Tableau, or Qlik

Prior BMW experience is a bonus

Understanding of statistical modeling techniques is preferred

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Ability to work onsite in Salt Lake City, UT (hybrid setup)
