Job Overview

• 📌 Position: Site Reliability Engineer I

• 📍 Location: 4/F, WeWork, Embassy Golf Links, Bangalore, Karnataka, India

• ⏱ Time Commitment: 40+ hours/week

This role is part of Nike’s India Technology Center (ITC) and is positioned within the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) division. The core mission? To ensure Nike’s digital platforms perform seamlessly, even at massive global scale. You’ll work on production-grade systems that support millions of users—where even milliseconds matter.


Roles & Responsibilities

As a Site Reliability Engineer I at Nike, your day-to-day will revolve around keeping digital systems fast, available, and secure. Your key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and enhancing system reliability across Nike’s global digital ecosystem
• Debugging infrastructure and application-level issues through in-depth problem analysis
• Creating observability tools to track real-time KPIs and performance bottlenecks
• Collaborating with cross-functional engineering and product delivery teams to address production-level challenges
• Developing scalable backend services using Java, Node.js, or similar technologies
• Leading initiatives to improve production resilience and uptime for web and mobile systems
• Driving alignment across teams to enhance incident response and technical communication
• Contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and growth through mentorship and coaching


Qualifications & Eligibility

Nike is looking for resilient, technically sharp, and collaborative professionals who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Here’s what you need to apply:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or 1–3 years of equivalent experience)
• Strong backend development skills in Java, Node.js, Python, or Golang
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (React or Angular is a bonus)
• Experience with AWS cloud services, Docker, or serverless computing frameworks
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, Linux systems, DNS, and virtualization concepts
• Hands-on experience with observability and DevOps tools like Splunk, Jenkins, Jira, SignalFX, or New Relic
• Ability to diagnose production issues quickly and communicate their impact across teams
• A growth mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
