This internship falls under IBM’s prestigious University Relations Program, which connects top technical students with meaningful, hands-on industry research projects. Interns are mentored by experienced IBM researchers and contribute directly to current lab initiatives in AI, quantum computing, and hybrid cloud systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Research Intern, you will:
• Collaborate with IBM’s research team on applied AI and hybrid cloud projects
• Analyze large-scale datasets using Python and advanced data science libraries
• Implement and test models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and similar frameworks
• Participate in brainstorming and literature reviews on AI-related topics
• Prototype solutions for enterprise problems using cutting-edge AI techniques
• Document findings, share research insights, and present your work internally

Qualifications & Eligibility
IBM is looking for students with strong technical skills and a passion for research:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
• Proficient in Python (including Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter, VS Code)
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and statistical methods
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts: supervised/unsupervised learning, regression, classification
• Experience with deep learning, LLMs, and generative AI is a plus
• Exposure to WatsonX.ai, LangChain, or Crew.AI adds an edge
• Prior project or internship experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Must be legally authorized to work in India (no visa sponsorship provided)
