Role Overview

📌 Position: Software Engineer
📍 Location: Pune, Maharashtra, India
🗓 Duration: Permanent, full-time

Embedded in Emerson’s Development Engineering group, you will join an agile squad that designs industrial Windows and web applications used by plant operators worldwide.

Roles & Responsibilities

Translate business and product-owner requirements into detailed technical designs for new features and modules.
Develop, unit-test, and debug C#/.NET applications—both WPF desktop clients and RESTful Web API back-ends—using secure-coding best practices.
Build and optimize SQL Server schemas, stored procedures, and data-access layers for sub-second response times.
Contribute to DevOps: extend CI/CD pipelines, author PowerShell scripts, and automate static-analysis gates.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and sprint demos; champion clean architecture and SOLID principles.
Support QA and field teams during verification, validation, and post-release incident triage.
Document user stories, technical decisions, and “run-books” so future engineers ramp up quickly.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related engineering discipline (minimum 60 % aggregate).
1–3 years’ hands-on experience with C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, and WPF; solid grasp of OOAD and design patterns.
Proficiency with SQL Server (indexes, query tuning) and one modern source-control platform (Git or Azure Repos).
Familiarity with Web API or ASP.NET Core REST services; basic understanding of authentication and secure transport.
Nice-to-have: exposure to Azure PaaS services, micro-services, or containerization.
Strong analytical chops—able to isolate root causes in complex, distributed systems.
Clear written and verbal English; comfortable collaborating with global teams across time zones.
