This internship places you at the heart of Standard Chartered’s Financial Markets division, part of its Corporate and Investment Banking business. You’ll work alongside talented professionals across sales, trading, structuring, financing risk, and research to understand how global markets operate and how bespoke solutions are delivered to clients.

Roles & Responsibilities

During the programme you’ll rotate across two areas within Financial Markets to match your strengths and interests. Typical responsibilities include:

• Supporting Sales teams in building relationships with institutional clients and assisting with investment strategies tailored to their goals.

• Assisting Trading desks in market-making, managing positions, and using data analytics to navigate market volatility.

• Contributing to Structuring teams in designing and pricing complex financial products using quantitative modelling and commercial insights.

• Helping Financing Risk teams in structuring and distributing financing deals that align with regulatory requirements.

• Supporting Research functions by producing insights on macroeconomics, FX, credit, ESG, commodities, and geopolitics to help clients make informed decisions.

• Participating in training sessions, networking events, and community initiatives organised by the bank.

This mix of experiences will allow you to understand the full lifecycle of financial market products and develop the technical and soft skills required to excel in global banking.

Qualifications & Eligibility

• Strong academic performance and active involvement in extracurricular or leadership activities.
• Ability to work as part of a team with agility, resilience, and a collaborative mindset.

• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Permanent legal right to work in India (no visa sponsorship provided for this programme).
• You must be in your penultimate year of study and available to intern in April 2026 and start full-time in July 2027.
