Internship Overview

📌 Position: Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Intern

Roles & Responsibilities
Interns will be embedded within the infrastructure team and will work on real-time systems that keep PhonePe’s services running smoothly:

Assist in monitoring production systems to ensure uptime and performance
-
Automate recurring operational tasks using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
-
Help build internal dashboards and monitoring tools using Grafana, Prometheus, etc.

Collaborate with full-time SREs and backend engineers to troubleshoot outages or slowdowns
-
Participate in the design and rollout of new infrastructure components

Document all processes, configurations, and systems you work on
By the end of the internship, you’ll have contributed to real deployment systems and worked on production-grade infrastructure.
Qualifications & Eligibility
This internship is ideal for candidates who are passionate about systems engineering and reliability:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Graduation year: 2024 or 2025

Basic understanding of Linux, networking, and shell scripting

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus
-
Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows is beneficial
-
Strong debugging skills, willingness to learn, and a problem-solving mindset
Bonus skills

Familiarity with tools like Kafka, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, or Docker

Prior project or internship experience related to infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE
