Microsoft’s Azure Storage team is looking for someone who’s excited by large-scale distributed systems and wants to help push the limits of cloud technology. This role offers the chance to work on mission-critical services that are part of Azure’s hyperscale infrastructure, supporting some of the biggest data operations on the planet.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer in the Azure Storage division, you’ll be part of the team that engineers one of the largest cloud storage services in the world. Your day-to-day might include:

Writing and optimizing code for distributed storage systems
Contributing to new feature development and system architecture
Building solutions that improve performance, scalability, and reliability
Handling system monitoring and troubleshooting responsibilities as an on-call DRI (Designated Responsible Individual)
Partnering with engineers, testers, and product managers to drive innovation
Staying current on new technologies and applying them where useful
Working on both software and hardware-level optimizations to scale Azure Storage globally

Qualifications & Eligibility

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Experience coding in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Willingness to take part in an on-call rotation as needed
1+ years of experience in software development, OR a Master’s degree with relevant coursework
Understanding of distributed systems or cloud technologies
Ability to break down large tasks into smaller components
Clear communication skills and comfort working in collaborative environments
