This summer internship is designed for 2027 graduates with a strong passion for technology and problem-solving. Cisco offers roles across different engineering verticals including Networking Protocols, Application Software, and Embedded Systems, providing a unique opportunity to work on real-world projects and emerging technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities

Interns will be assigned to one of several software teams depending on interest, technical strengths, and project needs. Responsibilities may include:

• Designing, developing, and debugging software applications for networking, infrastructure, and cloud platforms
• Building tools and systems that support high-performance environments
• Collaborating on hardware compatibility and security integration
• Developing object-oriented applications and working on system-level debugging
• Writing Python and related scripting languages to optimize workflows
• Conducting product and system testing, ensuring high-quality outputs
• Engaging in cross-functional collaboration with global teams
• Innovating solutions with direct customer use-cases and feedback loops

Qualifications & Eligibility

This opportunity is ideal for high-performing students with a passion for software engineering. The ideal candidate should:

• Be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (2027 pass-outs only)
• Demonstrate strong fundamentals in computer science, including OOP, data structures, and networking
• Have working knowledge of programming languages like Python, C++, or Java
• Show interest in fields like cybersecurity, cloud, or system programming
• Possess excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
• Be available to work full-time from Cisco’s Bangalore office during the internship
• Demonstrate an eagerness to learn and contribute to fast-paced, impactful teams
