Internship Overview

📌 Position: Foreign Pharmacy Grad – International Pharmacy Intern
📍 Location: Florence, Kentucky, USA
⏱ Time Commitment: Full-time; On-site

This role is designed for Non-U.S. Accredited Foreign Pharmacy Graduates who have passed the FPGEE and TOEFL exams and are eligible to begin the required internship hours needed for U.S. pharmacist licensure. You’ll receive hands-on learning and mentorship from licensed pharmacists, building essential skills in patient care, pharmacy operations, and leadership.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Foreign Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, your day-to-day experience will be dynamic and multifaceted. Key responsibilities include:

Assisting pharmacists in providing safe and efficient patient care within a retail pharmacy setting
Supporting customer service functions both in-store and at drive-thru locations
Handling prescription workflows including filling, labeling, and inventory management
Learning U.S. pharmacy practices and compliance requirements under direct supervision
Participating in training programs focused on pharmacy operations, patient counseling, and immunizations
Engaging with the community and patients to promote CVS’s health services
Collaborating with pharmacy leadership to implement continuous improvement initiatives

You’ll also be expected to contribute to creating a compassionate, welcoming environment for patients and team members.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Ideal candidates for this internship should meet the following eligibility requirements:

A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-U.S. accredited pharmacy school
Successfully passed the FPGEE and TOEFL
Possess or be eligible to obtain an active Pharmacy Intern License in the U.S. state where the role is located
Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with patients from diverse backgrounds
Authorization to work in the U.S. (Note: Licensure must be completed within 120 days after finishing internship hours)

Preference will be given to candidates with prior healthcare or retail pharmacy experience.
