Stripe’s internship program is designed to provide an immersive and impactful engineering experience. Interns work on real-world systems, write production-level code, and get the chance to contribute to major features or platforms that power global commerce. Whether it’s backend services, web infrastructure, or developer tools—your work will directly influence Stripe’s mission.

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop and ship production-ready software that directly supports Stripe’s operations
Collaborate with engineering teams to plan, code, test, and deploy features
Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical deep-dives
Analyze system behavior and performance to enhance reliability and scalability
Proactively seek feedback and iterate on solutions with cross-functional teams
Present your project’s impact to the broader Stripe community

Each intern is assigned a mentor and is expected to own a well-scoped project that solves real customer or internal challenges. You won’t be shadowing—you’ll be shipping.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline
Strong foundational understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computer science principles
Prior exposure to programming through coursework or personal projects (Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Go, or Scala preferred)
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with engineers, designers, or product teams
Experience working on multi-person projects, internships, or open-source contributions is a plus
Ability to learn new systems independently and communicate progress effectively
