This is part of Boeing’s prestigious Graduate Researcher Program (GRP) — tailored specifically for PhD students looking to apply academic expertise to real-world aerospace challenges. The GRP blends in-depth industry exposure with structured development experiences over multiple summers, with potential for full-time conversion.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Platform Cyber Intern, you’ll be embedded within Boeing’s Technology Innovation team, working on projects that push the boundaries of aerospace cyber-defense. You’ll get to:
• Conduct cutting-edge research on cybersecurity for complex aerospace systems
• Collaborate with internal and university research teams on high-impact innovation
• Support security lifecycle efforts: from design to deployment and testing
• Help shape security standards with government and industry stakeholders
• Explore advanced areas such as anomaly detection, red teaming, and secure software engineering
• Contribute to projects that involve resilient hardware/software systems and anti-tamper solutions
This role is hands-on and influential—your work won’t sit in a file. It’ll shape Boeing’s future tech stack.
Qualifications & Eligibility
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following:
• PhD student who has completed at least 1 year of doctoral studies by July 2026
• Pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Math, or related disciplines
• Strong understanding of software security, cyber-physical systems, or AI/ML applications in security
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Able to work on-site full-time during Summer 2026
• Must be eligible to obtain U.S. Security Clearance (required by federal regulations)
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in reverse engineering, anomaly detection, or embedded systems
• Familiarity with RF/electromagnetic technologies or cyber-electronic warfare concepts
• Agile software development or secure coding practices a plus
