As part of Mastercard’s Corporate Security team, this internship will place you at the heart of its global defense strategy. Interns contribute directly to enhancing Mastercard’s cybersecurity posture by identifying, monitoring, and addressing threats across systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
As an intern, you’ll be joining a mission-first, security-forward environment where your contributions will matter. Your day-to-day work may include:
• Assisting with vulnerability scanning and security monitoring
• Supporting remediation workflows in collaboration with engineering and operations teams
• Analyzing real-time threat intelligence data to assess risk impact
• Helping improve internal security processes through automation and documentation
• Participating in red/blue team exercises, penetration testing, and secure SDLC activities
• Learning how Mastercard manages cyber risk across cloud infrastructure and legacy systems
• Attending knowledge-sharing sessions and presenting findings to internal stakeholders
You’ll be working with cutting-edge tools like Splunk, engaging with frameworks like Zero Trust, and learning from security veterans in a structured, growth-oriented environment.
Qualifications & Eligibility
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Expected graduation date must be December 2026 or later
• A strong foundation in vulnerability management, network security, or penetration testing
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and practices
• Previous participation in Capture the Flag (CTF) or cybersecurity bootcamps is a plus
• Excellent analytical thinking and verbal/written communication skills
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
