Internship Overview

• 📌 Position: Software Developer Intern

• 📍 Location: Spring, Texas

• ⏱ Time Commitment: Full‑time

You’ll be assigned to one of HP’s software pillars—Application Development, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Mobile, UX, or Firmware. Expect hands‑on coding, real deadlines, and a chance to demo your project to vice presidents before the summer ends.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, code, and test new features using Java, Python, C++, React JS, or Go, following Test‑Driven Development practices.
• Build and secure REST / GraphQL APIs; automate CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or AWS CodePipeline.
• Instrument microservices with Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana dashboards to surface real‑time latency and error metrics.
• Pair with senior engineers to debug distributed systems, optimize SQL and NoSQL queries, and harden authentication flows.
• Own a “big, meaty” project—for example, containerizing a legacy service or adding real‑user monitoring to a print‑analytics stack—and present your results to product managers and engineering leadership.
• Document architecture decisions, write unit and integration tests, and submit clean, review‑ready pull requests.

Qualifications & Eligibility

• 3rd‑year Bachelor’s or 1st‑year Master’s student in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proficient in at least one major programming language listed above; comfortable with Git and branch‑based workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containers (Docker, EKS), or data‑visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Able to work in the United States in 2026 without future visa sponsorship; OPT/CPT assistance is not available.
• Strong debugging instincts, willingness to learn from code reviews, and passion for inclusive teamwork—HP actively encourages applications from historically under‑represented groups in tech.
