Join Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group and be part of a team driving connectivity forward through hands-on contributions in next-generation optical technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities

As an Optical Network QA, you’ll work with cutting-edge tools and collaborate with global experts in optical networking. Your daily responsibilities will include:

Testing and validating optical network planning tools such as DWDM, OTN, ROADM, and GMPLS.
Writing and executing test plans and test cases for various network configurations.
Performing regression, integration, and system-level tests to ensure software reliability.
Simulating real-world network scenarios and documenting performance benchmarks.
Logging software issues using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla and tracking resolution progress.
Collaborating with product managers, developers, and network engineers to troubleshoot and improve tool performance.
Giving input on user interface design and product usability.
Contributing to the improvement of quality assurance practices within the team.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Nokia welcomes motivated and curious individuals eager to learn and contribute to impactful work in telecommunications.

Must be currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
0–2 years of experience in telecom testing, QA, or optical networks.
Understanding of optical networking concepts like DWDM, OTN, ROADM, Ethernet, and SONET/SDH.
Familiarity with optical planning or design tools is preferred.
Experience using bug tracking systems such as JIRA or TestRail.
Basic understanding of scripting (e.g., Python, Selenium, REST APIs) is a plus.
Knowledge of industry standards (ITU-T, MEF, IEEE) is beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
